Teams at United Utilities moved employee requests onto BMC after local tools started to collide.
“In the United Kingdom, HR, facilities, and finance ops already knew where employee requests went wrong: too many copies, too little ownership, and a close process that waited on the loudest inbox.”

Story
United Utilities did not need another dashboard that nobody opened. It needed shared services to move. In the United Kingdom, HR, facilities, and finance ops already knew where employee requests went wrong: too many copies, too little ownership, and a close process that waited on the loudest inbox.
Helix Operations Management from BMC is now in that path. BMC provides IT service management, operations, and workflow automation software, including Helix and Control-M. The company treats it as production tooling for shared services, which is why HR, facilities, and finance ops live in it rather than exporting from it once a quarter.
United Utilities can show how employee requests is handled today. That is the value: a repeatable way to run shared services on software the rest of the industry already recognizes.
