Story
Materials work at Symrise spans more than one site, even when headquarters sits in Germany. Product design was splitting across regional habits. Design engineers asked for a shared way to run engineering design without freezing local judgment.
AVEVA (E3D) is what they standardized on. AVEVA, part of Schneider Electric, provides industrial software for engineering, operations, and real-time data, including the PI System. Symrise uses it as the system of record for product design, with design engineers as the primary operators and other groups coming in through the same queue.
Leaders get a picture they can actually walk. Teams get fewer mystery statuses. The story is about operating change, not an unpublished percentage.
