Value results

|---|---|
| Capability | Design engineers work from the same Luciad record for product design |
| Capability | Product design can be reviewed without waiting on a personal export |
| Capability | Named workflow replaces ad hoc routing for product design |
Story
Sumitomo Electric grew product design faster than the local tools around it. From Japan, industrials teams still had to serve customers and internal partners who expected a straight answer. Design engineers were the ones stitching the picture together by hand.
Rolling out Luciad put engineering design on Hexagon. Hexagon provides digital reality and industrial software for measurement, design, and operations in manufacturing and geospatial work. Sumitomo Electric keeps the product in the path where work already happens, so design engineers do not context-switch into a graveyard system used only for audits.
The visible result is steadier engineering design. Product design is easier to inspect, and adjacent groups can join design engineers without a guided tour of someone's desktop.
