Story
Fonterra grew infrastructure as code faster than the local tools around it. From New Zealand, consumer staples teams still had to serve customers and internal partners who expected a straight answer. Platform engineers were the ones stitching the picture together by hand.
Rolling out Snyk Open Source put environment provisioning on Snyk. Snyk helps developers find and fix vulnerabilities in code, open source, containers, and infrastructure as code. Fonterra keeps the product in the path where work already happens, so platform engineers do not context-switch into a graveyard system used only for audits.
The visible result is steadier environment provisioning. Infrastructure as code is easier to inspect, and adjacent groups can join platform engineers without a guided tour of someone's desktop.
