Story
CenterPoint Energy did not need another dashboard that nobody opened. It needed engineering design to move. In the United States, design engineers already knew where product design went wrong: too many copies, too little ownership, and a close process that waited on the loudest inbox.
APM from AVEVA is now in that path. AVEVA, part of Schneider Electric, provides industrial software for engineering, operations, and real-time data, including the PI System. The company treats it as production tooling for engineering design, which is why design engineers live in it rather than exporting from it once a quarter.
CenterPoint Energy can show how product design is handled today. That is the value: a repeatable way to run engineering design on software the rest of the industry already recognizes.
