Broadcom did not need another dashboard that nobody opened. It needed application delivery to move. In the United States, network and app owners already knew where application traffic went wrong: too many copies, too little ownership, and a close process that waited on the loudest inbox.
Ion from Akamai is now in that path. Akamai operates a large edge platform for content delivery, application security, and microsegmentation.
