Bechtel did not need another dashboard that nobody opened. It needed plant and field operations to move. In the United States, operations engineers already knew where operations visibility went wrong: too many copies, too little ownership, and a close process that waited on the loudest inbox.
Codebeamer from PTC is now in that path. PTC provides product lifecycle management, CAD, and industrial IoT software used by manufacturers to design and service products. The company treats it as production tooling for plant and field operations, which is why operations engineers live in it rather than exporting from it once a quarter.
